Additional Utilities
Optional add on utilities are continously created by the Olfish development team to meet the needs of our clients. Below is a list of some of our popular Dynamic Data Logger added value utilities.
- The Quota Manager Utility monitors catch quotas and graphically displays quota quantities for multiple species.
- The Crew Commission Calculator enables skippers or vessel owvers to calculate crew remunerations based on catch value.
- The Size Structure Utility allows users to easily record and analyze information regarding fish size or weight.
- The Stock Monitor is a monitoring utility that tracks the movement of fish products from the fishing vessel to the storage area.
- The Auto-Scale Module connects Olfish to all leading brands of automatic scales and electronically transfers species, weight, grad and processed catch data from the scales into the Olfish database. The data can be sent from the scale to the computer using either a TCP/IP network connection or a standard RS232 communication port. Olfish currently caters to four different industry-standard scales (NESCO, Pols, Scanvaegt, and Marel).
- The Catch Predictor Utility is a useful and easy tool which calculates the time it will take to catch a specified quantity of fish based on the latest vessel fishing performance.
- The Change Control Utility tracks any data entered via the DDL. It is possible, in the case of dispute, for an authorized administrator to activate the Olfish-DDL change control browser and see the “history” of any data which has been entered via the DDL. Any activity for which a change has been made is marked and the original value plus the new values, date, time and user information is presented.
- The Inspector Utility allows compliance agents to extract catch data stored in Olfish. This is a password protected utility.
- The DDL Data Pull allows an authorized shore based user to pull real time GPS data from a vessel Dynamic Data Logger at the click of a button. As long as the vessel computer is one this utility can work, the DDL does not need to be open on the vessel computer.
Olfish also offers Standalone Utilities
- An inexpensive web-based utility has been designed by Olrac specifically for recreational fishery use. This small program allows recreational fishers to log on and report required catch and effort information. The program includes added value components for the user, such as tracking his or her catch geospatially using Google Maps.
